Anthropology of Things

Things are like portals, in a way.

Everything stored in your home represents a decision.

Sometimes is not your decision, sometimes it’s just a couch, or a vase, or a postcard taped into a wall.

But sometimes, that postcard represents a yearning for the unattainable lifestyle of aesthetics and beauty. Behind every single thing not thrown away, a story hides.

What I personally love and adore is when people light up when asked about a trinket lying on their bedside table, a poster hanging on their fridge, or a garment they’ve been wearing constantly for weeks. Their attitude of: "Oh, I can't wait to tell you about this special item to which I feel connected.” It’s sort of like hearing someone talk about a friend they really enjoy spending time with.

How a person surrounds themself with objects tells a lot about them.

The modality of this kind of relationship translates to a broader spectrum of being.
