WABI-SABI

Concept of finding beauty within the imperfections of life and accepting the natural cycle of growth and decay. Shrugging off the unattainable aim for perfection and coming to terms with the fact that life is intended to be a little messy and undone.

More than an aesthetic – it is a mindset. So broad and vastly applicable, that it can be difficult to define, but if honored, can influence our perception of the world, add more depth to our experiences as human beings.

The term consists of two concepts: wabi, which roughly translates to "subdued, austere beauty" and sabi, meaning to "take pleasure in the imperfect". When combined, they define the energy – the wabi-sabi – that beams from within.
